KB & Sons Nepal Company, the producer of Rishi Jal, has been fined NPR 200,000 after a lizard was found inside a sealed water bottle kept for sale at New Bhanja Hotel in Lahan Municipality-3, Siraha, on Asar 10. The action was taken after a consumer complaint, as officials said the case raised serious concerns about public health, product quality, and negligence in drinking water production.

Administrative Action
After receiving the complaint, the inspection team from the Area Administration Office, Lahan, carried out monitoring and found that the company had failed to maintain proper quality standards. The office took action under the Consumer Protection Act, 2075, stating that such negligence could directly affect consumer health.

Product Recall Ordered
The administration has instructed the company to immediately recall the affected batch of Rishi Jal bottles that had already been sent to the market. Company representatives were also called to the office and warned to improve quality control in future production and distribution.

Consumer Alert
Officials have urged the public to remain careful while buying and using packaged drinking water and other daily consumer products. Consumers have also been requested to report any damaged, contaminated, expired, or suspicious products to the concerned authorities immediately.
