Prime Minister Balendra Shah And RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane Inaugurate Party’s First General Convention In Chitwan
The ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party has started its first general convention in Bharatpur, Chitwan. Prime Minister Balendra Shah and party chairman Rabi Lamichhane jointly opened the event by ringing the party’s election symbol, the bell.

The ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party has officially started its first general convention in Bharatpur, Chitwan, marking an important organizational event for the party.
The convention began at the Guesthouse ground in Bharatpur with a special opening ceremony. Prime Minister and RSP senior leader Balendra Shah and party chairman Rabi Lamichhane jointly inaugurated the event by ringing the party’s election symbol, the bell.
Top leaders from several major political parties attended the opening session. Nepali Congress president Gagan Kumar Thapa, former Prime Minister Dr. Baburam Bhattarai, UML leader Pradeep Kumar Gyawali, Maoist Centre leader Barsha Man Pun, RPP chairman Rajendra Lingden, and JSP Nepal chairman Upendra Yadav were among those present.

RSP had invited all political parties represented in Parliament to the convention. However, organizers said the Shram Sanskriti Party led by Harka Raj Rai did not take part in the event. The party’s first convention is expected to discuss its new policy direction, future roadmap, and leadership selection process.
