China Commits To Accelerating Nepal Projects During High-Level Talks In Beijing
China has assured Nepal that it will speed up the implementation of ongoing bilateral projects and previously agreed development initiatives. The commitment was made during talks between the foreign ministers of the two countries, where both sides discussed expanding cooperation across multiple sectors.

China has expressed its commitment to advancing development projects and cooperation programs already agreed upon with Nepal, signaling continued support for bilateral collaboration in infrastructure, economic development, and connectivity.
The commitment was made during a meeting between Nepal's Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Beijing on Monday. The discussion took place as part of Khanal's four-day official visit to China.
During the discussions, officials from both countries assessed the progress of existing bilateral initiatives and explored opportunities for expanding collaboration across several development and economic sectors. China indicated its readiness to expedite projects currently under implementation as well as initiatives agreed upon through previous bilateral understandings.
The meeting covered several sectors, including infrastructure development, cross-border connectivity, energy, trade, investment, agriculture, tourism, technology transfer, information technology, digital transformation, border management, and people-to-people exchanges. Discussions also included cooperation related to chemical fertilizers and petroleum and natural gas exploration.
During the talks, China reiterated its support for Nepal's priorities related to economic development and good governance. The Chinese side also expressed willingness to continue working with Nepal in areas considered important for the country's development agenda.
Nepal, meanwhile, reaffirmed its adherence to the One China Policy and reiterated its position that Nepali territory would not be allowed to be used against China's interests.
Before meeting Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Minister Khanal also held discussions with Liu Haixing, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. The two leaders exchanged views on enhancing bilateral relations, increasing interactions between political parties, and promoting closer ties between the people of both countries.
The visit forms part of ongoing diplomatic engagement between Nepal and China as the two neighbours continue discussions on development cooperation, connectivity, and broader bilateral relations.
